Interesting Lion's Head Silver Plated Wine Cooler

    An interesting item to me but it's beat up.

    Do people collect these things that they would restore it?

    Just big enough to put a bottle of wine in, without ice.

    Probably not great detail on the close up of the lion's head because I just cropped the first image. I'm use to just taking book photos and with antiques there is so much more (like cleaning in different ways).

    I had a very similar, if not identical one that was marked Barker Ellis. I got $95 for it, but it was in better condition.

    Even if plated, I would have thought it would have had a glass liner......NICE!!!!!!

    The lion is a nice decorative touch, but has nothing to do with a maker ID.

    It's not a wine cooler, it's a bottle coaster so it wouldn't have a glass liner. People still use them at fancy dinner parties or to set on a buffet etc as decoration. Most leave them as is rather than having them re-plated for example, so yes it would sell as is.
