Interesting hand painted Greek pottery replica

    When I found this I noticed another similar one in my research about 18 months ago when I bought it. However, not sure what company created it or if it was a national museum.

    I don't think the notation means that it was made by the museum in Corinth, only that it is a copy of an item in their collection with that inventory number. Doubt you will find the maker. Greece is prolific at making copies of its antiquities.

    I saw the one that had the same kind of metal banding that you see hanging off.

    Maybe meant to look like a customs seal or an indication that it is legal to remove the item from the country? Can't see the original having any such thing.
