Featured Interesting fragment. Austro Hungarian?

Picked this up today. I think silver and gold and the pearls are real. The hinge is beautifully articulated and the central "ruby" moves. Yes, there's a dangle missing. Coloured portions are good enamel.

Thoughts folks?

 

Yes to Austro-Hungarian. One clue is the rather 'folksy' look of the enameling.
The gold could be gilded silver. On the bottom loop there is some wear to the gold layer, showing silver.

Not sure what to hang in the middle, but it needs to be funky and a little loud to avoid being shouted out by the rest of the piece.

I've a bohemian garnet fragment somewhere, I’m wondering if that might work.

I’d surmise this was an earring part , given the fact that the back is decorated. I like it a lot.

Decorated backs are typical AH jewellery anyway, even on brooches.

A teardrop shaped baroque pearl could work.
