Ink wash painting on silk - Chinese - possibly very old?

Hello - was wondering if anyone here knows asian art - picked this up today and to my eye it looks very old... but I know that Chinese silk painting goes from modern day to back a long long way. The painting is about 3 feet tall. I don't know where to begin to translate the inscription/seal. It's behind glass so hard to get great pics of it. Here are some to start with:

It purports to be a work by the Japanese artist Kano Seisenin, but his works are copied, so you'd have to have someone knowledgeable look at this.
