Information on knife

The handle looks south pacific,possibly Maori.

 

I have been trying for years to figure out anything on this knife. It's my favorite knife i have and know nothing about it

That's a beautiful knife. Tje Handle looks to be bone. The handle on my knife looks to be bronze

 

My first thought was Pacific Northwest like a Tingit carved handled knife. The handles on their knives are totem looking, but usually in profile, which this one isn't. Also with the handle metal sort of disqualifies Tingit.

Susan. Thank you. This is the most info i have gotten on the knife over the years. I have gone to knife makers and all they could do was shake there heads.

 

I'd say circa WW2 ......yes Maori design, but not based on the Sykes model .

I'm of the mind that it a theater dagger, with a hand made handle.

more searcy searcy...required......but it very well may be one of a kind.

a close up of the handle and guard......& I'd have a better idea if it was shop made or cast in multiples ...

lets not jump the gun....I said...may well be......even with good pics I can't say.....for sure !!
