Information needed bake-lite button hook and leather case

    I was going to list this and was just wondering if the hard leather case was original or a marriage?

    The fit is perfect which leads me to think it’s the original case. Having said that, I’ve never seen another case like this, and these hooks were often part of a larger set of dressing-table ‘tools’ which usually have matching handles.
    Let’s see what others say.

    Could be, bakelite was the first thing to come out.

    Yes, celluloid. If there’s any vinegar-type scent it has begun breaking down & should be kept away from other celluloid pieces as it may spread.

    No question - pearlized celluloid. Boot hook, for doing the laces on your button-up shoes.
