    Hey guys,

We have this lidded water pitcher... I was wondering if you guys could tell me more about it. Possibly a make, but more importantly whether its Silver or Silver Plate. The markings on the bottom of the piece are pictured.

The piece stands 7" tall, 4.75" deep, 9.5" wide with the spout & handle.
    Weighs 1.25lbs.

    Thanks!

    Water pitcher, or coffee pot?

This was not made for any hot liquid. Jugs or pots for hot stuff had either non conductive handles, or inset discs of something like ebony, ivory or later, Bakelite. The shape is that of a coffee pot, but I supect it's more likely for milk.

Agreed on the marks and SP.

So that is why the discs are on some handles, thank-you bear:)

You're very welcome - clever chaps, those Victorians. ;) And earlier makers, too.
