I found this at a local thrift store & googling it I found out about Handgermalt porcelain steins - but I can't find one this size, color or with what looks like a hand written name mark.
It measures 7.5" high not counting the lid's finial (9" with it) x a whopping 25" around (and that's not counting the handle - just the cup part!)
Has anyone seen one this big? Has anyone seen the mark written in like this one? What does the mark say/mean that is etched into the pottery above the name?
    Is this a real Handgermalt?!
Thank you, I appreciate any help.

It's beautiful and I love the shape.

Handgermalt means hand painted so it would seem that this one is, rather than being a transfer.

It looks hand painted to me, but I don't really know.

He only answers questions about his website Any idea what the markings mean? (now that I learned handgermalt isn't a pottery/stein company!)

Maybe the shape of the remnants of the sticker can help. Google beer stein marks on images and look at any foil labels.

I have to wonder how you carry that thing around if it's full or pour from it with no spout.

Yours doesn’t seem to have much wear on the bottom. This also has a section on modern steins (just in case)
I’d check the metal handle for a mark too.
I think the capacity is usually marked with an L (for liters)

It would make a heckuva cookie jar, which may have been the original purpose. No one ever was meant to put beer in it unless the pub also supplied a straw and a stretcher to haul the drinker home.(LOL)

I don’t really see any with floral designs, maybe from an Octoberfest?
I take it back- there are floral designs, none like this so far.

I bit uncomfortable to sit on, I'd think. Cookie-tossing pot maybe, after refilling it with dopple bock one time too many?

Have you ever seen a chamber pot that did look comfortable?

This type of jug was made for the Dutch market, which was important to Westerwald potters. Because of wars, Eastern Europe was economically suffering (Hungary, Austria and Poland), therefore potters produced wares appealing to the tastes of wealthy countries in the West like Holland and England. Two shallow chips to rim, one small shallow flake to underside of foot; chip to lower handle terminus, all else fine.
    Dimensions: 8" H.
    ?
I haven’t researched marks, but they do seem to exist, referred to as a jug.
