    Hello everyone,
My grandmother, born in the early '30s in Germany, inherited this bowl/platter from her aunt. I don't know if her aunt also acquired it from an older relative or bought it new. Based on the photos attached, does anyone have an idea of its age, potential value, and any other info? Thank you in advance, and if there are any other clues needed that I may provide, please let me know!

P.S. I apologize if the photos are on the large side! I'm new and still working out resizing and posting.

The same pattern is in another thread today, it is called 'strawflower' by some and 'blue fluted' by others.

My parents had a dinnerset like this.

Thanks Any Jewelry and say_it_slowly! Your info gives me something to work with (and I will check out the other thread on the pattern). To try and narrow down the possible year of origination I'll see if my grandmother can recall what year or even decade she got it.

The design looks like one of those in use pretty well constantly since the 18th century. We can see why.

Thanks @say_it_slowly ! It looks like my hunch that the value is primarily sentimental was a good one haha. Neat to see there are more of them floating around. Thanks also for the tip to check recent sales!

It a lovely classic pattern! Most of the things I've received from family have very little monetary value but I treasure them.

In a way it relieves the pressure of deciding whether to keep or sell something if it were of significant value.
