    the research of found indicates that the nesting doll originated in china made its way to japan and then to Russia?

    If you go to most any big mall they usually have a kiosk selling Russian matryoshka dolls and they have dozens of themes from cowboys to politicians. That said, this one seems a lot nicer than the mass produced ones.
