Hello everyone! I'm brand new here and so happy to have found this site. I'd love to know your opinion on a piece I purchased in a box lot at auction. I'm assuming it's an incense burner (yes, it's filthy) but I'd like to have that confirmed. Also, any thoughts on the time frame in which it would have been made? Again, thrilled to have found this forum and thank you in advance for any thoughts you may have. 20200110_152328.jpg 20200110_151707.jpg 20200110_151714.jpg 20200110_151619.jpg 20200110_151722.jpg

I was thinking the same as Baker's.

    I would wash it good.
If you can stand ammonia, make a 50-50 solution with water in a squirt bottle. Squirt it all over. Then use Dawn dishwashing liquid on a sponge and it will clean up beautifully.

Then blow into her leg as suggested. I sure wouldn't do it before washing.

Looks older. I would say 1930s or earlier.

This is exactly the same! Of course she doesn't have a hand missing lol. I agree with you about the description...I'm not sure I would call this a wall pocket.
