In search of “jewelry” for cameo

    Greetings!
A few years ago I came across a cameo of a woman wearing a necklace with a Star of David Pendant. In the middle of the star was a tiny diamond.
Sadly, I had to sell this cameo to pay for medical bills.
Now I have a pretty cameo that needs a few stones replaced and I would like to add a necklace and pendant (a Star of David) to her.
Does anyone know where I can find charms small enough to use?

Hello Willowmyst. I'm sorry you had to sell the other cameo, but what a lovely idea to make your current cameo like the first one.
    How big is your cameo?

Welcome to Antiquers, @WillowMyst ! Several members here know about replacements for gems and other parts of jewelry. So with luck you will get some help.

If you are adding a necklace to a cameo that never had a necklace before, that would take some expertise. Many people are more "craft-y" than I am, so you may get some advice on that level, too.

    It is one of my smallest @ 54.15mm Noth-South & 41.55mm East-West with frame.
    The shell itself is: 43.2mm N-S & 33.6 E-W
    The space the necklace & pendant can go into is:9.4mm N-S & 12mm E-W

I will tag @kyratango for you, she has added a necklace to a cameo before.
Mind you, she probably created the pendant of the necklace herself, but she also knows where to find findings and dangles no one else can find.;)

Thanks for the welcome. I had been here in 2021, to find out some info on cameos, but between then and now, I lost my login info. After setting up this account, I looked up my old posts. Turns out, my old user name contained a "space". Ah well... Looking forward to spending time here again!

    @Willowmist, wonderful project!
    Sadly, I haven't dangle's providers, except organ donnors when I find them:D
For your project, as the star is to be small, I'd seek for rosecut inlays in broken or damaged pieces.
I completed a black lady cameo with wires:joyful:

Normally the necklaces are added to a shell cameo by drilling holes and mounting the setting and wires in those holes. You might seek out an estate or custom jeweler to assist you in this project. They should also be able to source the right size stones and star setting (or make one).
