Featured Identifying old chair

    Hey all!
    I've recently picked up what I believe to be an old piano chair. It spins to adjust the height and has a theaded wooden beam to do so. From what I understand it has been reupholstered twice now (as far as I know) and has no sign of a maker's mark. I'm wondering if anyone might have any information on the chair, as I can't find anything like it

    I wonder if this was a beauticians/hairdresser chair ? Id guess 1850s ? Empire,maybe Biedermeier ? I think its a great chair !

    It might have been used with a lady's desk or dressing table too. Pretty thing, regardless.

    I'd like to see where it attaches to the base. It looks awkward to me.

    I think evelyb and Ghopper are correct. Desk chair.

    Usually a piano chair seat is round.
