The word “Italy” and numbers “888/487” are hand-written on the bottom. Does anyone know who might have made it, the age and value?

Do you have an iphone? If so, email them to yourself as "medium" This will make them small enough.

    Welcome, Newbie,

Sorry for your loss. I’ve posted the one photo. Maybe you can get a photo of the bottom posted, using the tips above.

Good deal. Please go back and edit your post and click on the more options button at the bottom. Go to the top of your photos and click on insert all as Full Image. That way everyone can easily see your piece.

Thank you for your condolences and your help. I don’t recall my mother ever using this set and I expected to see her initials on the bottom, but instead it looks like it was made in Italy.

    It’s a lovely shade of green :)
Maybe Majolica? Looks like a grape leaf design to me, but wait for other replies.

Very similar to the Portuguese line by Pinheiro Bordallo, but not majolica.

Interesting. It certainly does look like Pinheiro Bordallo although colorway not quite right.

Am not a leaf expert, but could those be strawberry leaves?

I thought they were maple leaves. I didn’t even see that there is a vine around the edge. Hmmm

Absolutely grape or vine leaves, a very Mediterranean theme.

These are ready to be filled:

1960s into maybe very early 70s, Italian as it says. I can't remember who used that number sequence, it's not Bitossi, might be that unpronounceable one. There's an excllent facebook page for Italian pottery, someone will know in a heartbeat. Yes, it's got value, this mid century stuff is very popular.
