Can anyone please help to ID this signature on these two purple goblets? I’ve looked at it until my eyes go funny and can’t decipher it!
    Thanks for any help :)

I think the last two character are a date. 97 or 07.

Could be. Wish makers of everything could make their signatures clearer!

Could it be written in Greek?

    This got me thinking.
Could it be Xipre (Cyprus) and a year?

I dont understand why they signed it in such a prominent place ? I almost think this was someones way of marking it as theirs.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I think @Marote did similar to what I did on one, but the other looks slightly different...........they (the signatures) look like they were done with a dremel!
AND for sure, I can't read either!

Thanks @Aquitaine that top one is as clear as we are ever going to get!
I may have to accept defeat on identifying them. Maybe amateur made as they are a bit individual!

Maybe the second one was done after putting the goblet to good use first. :D
We might be able to read it, if we do the same :p

I don't think Cypriot people are in the habit of signing in Catalan.
You never know though, it could be that one Catalan-Cypriot....:playful:

Hm. I wonder if it’s Maltese. Maybe ask on the Mdina Facebook group.

Tiffany & Co. do the same on the foot of their drinking glasses. Looks very cheap, even though I would have to ask the price.

Sometimes Google is very helpful, but too often this is the help it provides:.

In the first bit, I read 'Xop', so I google for "Xop" glass goblet.
    Google:
Did you mean: "Spy" glass goblet

Of course Google, you're absolutely right! How silly of me to put one letter in the wrong spot and type 2 incorrect letters in a 3-letter word ...

Weird place to put a signature. I wouldn't buy these, I consider them scratched.

I wonder if all of the last section is a date. Something like 17 ap 79 for 17 April 1979?
