Hi everyone. Brand new here. I have a set of "dressers", I guess, that were my grandmothers. My mother told me long ago that they were Shaker made, as we lived in a very popular Shaker area, but they may just be Shaker inspired. I am told they are Cherry, but I really have no idea. Any help with wood / age / origin, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They might be inspired by Shaker but shaker furniture pieces have no braces, nails, or screws. What does the interior of the case look like (drawers removed) and the drawer construction?

Unusual to have caps sitting on top of handles like that, when the handles could be screwed from the inside. But you never know. We need more photos.

Given the stenciled info on the back, definitely made by a larger furniture manufacturer than a local shaker outfit. Shaker furniture is also much more simply designed even than this dresser.

Mu best guess on approx age would be designed in the 50s. Reminds me of Cushman pieces I have seen IRL and here.

IMG_2027.jpeg IMG_2025.jpeg IMG_2028.jpeg IMG_2029.jpeg IMG_2031.jpeg I had a hard time uploading since my files were all too large, which is why I put them all on the PDF. Please view whole PDF and I'm adding new photos of drawers as requested. I'm seeking any info on both the wide and tall dressers, including how much you think I could ask for them. Thanks again!

I understand it's not Shaker, was wondering if anyone thought they looked Shaker inspired. :)

JMHO, but I see no Shaker influence in your pieces, sorry.

It looks very similar to the boys bedroom set my brothers had growing up in the 1960s. :)

No, not really. Shaker is severe functionality taken to a point of elegance.

The Shakers spent a lot of time on their furniture designs with an eye towards perfect proportions, simplicity, and of course, FUNCTION!
Added to that mix is flawless cabinetmaking skills and ironically, they invested in the latest, most modern tool technology to perfect that goal.
They did not intend for their furniture to be "beautiful", to the contrary, decoration of ANY kind was against their religion and frowned upon.
They would probably be horrified today to learn that Shaker furniture is considered elegance without equal.
