    I have recently found myself with rather a lot of time on my hands.
    I am not an idle person, so I am looking for new ways of occupying both my mind and my time... I have always been keen on Antiques in many ways, I look forward to seeing and learning much more.

The lid was stuck for many years, but I found an old tested method and it finally gave way.... It has brown, sugar looking crystals inside, and smell is pungent, but of whay I have no idea... could it be a perfume? a musk or a medicine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Neat little item you have there. I could see myself carrying that with a little "medicine" in there! :)

    Hi,
    Looks like your item was in a man toilet kit. Strapped in keep it from moving around. Probably had a nice cologne in it.

    Is the bottom of the bottle marked France?
    The stopper almost looks like Lalique. What is that Alligator?

    Looks like it went in a travel case. Not necessarily a man's item.

    Greetings fellow newbie. Think your mystery item is a traveling perfume bottle, designed to protect the glass from breaking & prevent the top coming off when in a handbag or in luggage if the owner did not have what at one time was called a 'train case'.
