Seems incomplete with the wood brackets on the side and the unfinished edges on the top. Has been exposed to weather so will be difficult to restore and results will not be all that satisfactory. See veneers buckling and is that particle board under the veneer on the top? If so, probably not as old as you think.

Yeah, it is particle board under a very thin veneer top.

One side top of an old sideboard I reckon.

Hi fotis_k and welcome from Australia. I agree with the others if that's particle board and veneer, then the item isn't that old. It also looks like it has been cut in half. :(

Thank you very much for your answers!!!

@AuDragon it is not cut in half for sure because on the lower side it is completed in all sides.

To me it looks like the old owner tried to hang it from the one side and used some wood brackets to do it.

In each case i like it and i think i will give it a try to fix it.

Ps on the top it has particle board yes :(

The reason I thought it might have been cut in half was in Pic 4, the small wooden bracket looked like a shelf of drawer runner which might have linked another box the same on the other side, like a dresser.
Post some pics after you have restored it. :)

You may want to consider completely replacing the top altogether with solid wood. Might make your effort and time more worthy in the end run. Just a thought
