This tea strainer has a little windmill at the top that actually spins. The 800 mark is quite clear but the other is quite muddled. I looked on the 925 site & I guess it could be the Denmark 3 towers mark, but I think Danish silver is higher than 800.:confused::confused:

It is 4 3/8" top to bottom & is 2 1/8" across the bowl.

    Peggy, just a thought...

Is it possible that one of the 2 marks is upside down? (Like the 800 goes one way, and the other goes the opposite?) I turned the mark upside down, and to me, at least, it seems that the other mark possibly could be the German crescent & crown.

    (Note the possibly could be...!)

I agree. German silver. Crescent & Crown. They're upside-down to each other.

Aquitaine, what I meant was that when the 800 is right side up, the other mark is upside down!

The way you're showing it, now the crescent moon/crown mark (if that's what it is) is right side up, but the 800 is upside down...

In other words, they stamped the two marks differently.

    Make sense?

Yes, SBSVC, what you're saying makes sense, but I don't see it saying 800 either!!!!

As already astutely observed, it's an '800' and a German 'Reichsmark', stamped in opposing directions, no maker's mark - cast silver, in the Dutch style, most likely dates from the late 19th century into the first couple of decades of the 20th.
