I have four tumblers with it. The tumblers are 5 and a fourth tall and the pitcher is 9 and a half inches tall. Sorry about the photos it is hard with clear glass 14680110991421244475654.jpg 1468011128932-271617996.jpg 14680111603741029600194.jpg 1468011182665-1896148158.jpg

I think it is Fostoria's Oriental Pattern. But I don't see a pitcher listed in my book. But the etch looks like Oriental to me. I'll do some further looking.

I didn't see pitchers listed because they are listed as Jugs. I'm not sure what kind of the 6 "jugs" listed is your's , but it is a nice find. Book Value (old book may be different now probably LESS) $195-$235

You need a plain background next time, and maybe roll up something in a dark solid and put it inside to show the pattern when the pattern is coming through from the other side.

Thank you. The book I have is saying the tumblers I have are at least 75$ a piece. I love it. Great addition to my collection

What you might try to photograph that is to stuff the pitcher with a piece of dark colored cloth.

    ********

Too late. I see you did that. Well... great minds and all that.

Bdigger is correct, that is definitely Fostoria's Oriental etch, which was produced from 1918 - 1929. I didn't find a catalog page with the etch on that shape, but I did find the shape from the same time frame with another pattern on it. I believe it is shape 724-6, shown here with a different pattern

Your camera takes good pictures, but the background is confusing. Put items in front of a plain white towel or white sheet next time and crop it so there's nothing in the background. Especially if you're planning on listing it for sale somewhere.

I disagree with using a white background, generally a dark background allows the etch to show, but it doesn't hurt to try different colors, but black or navy generally produce the best results.

I was thinking since he had a dark thing inside the vase, a white background would make it easier to focus on.

ahhh, no I see what you are saying. Yes, a light background behind the pitcher with the dark background inside. That could be a good combo.

I will figure out where to take pictures of items I find to post. Since my kitchen counter makes people tired.

Just ignore the grumpy old man behind the curtain. ;):rolleyes::p:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:

BTW this is not cluttered. If you want to see clutter I will go out & get a photo of my husband's workbench or take one of my desk later this afternoon while I am entering last nights purchases into my inventory & trying to get some photos done.:eek::p:p:smuggrin::smuggrin:

You have found a beautiful old pitcher for your collection & you have every right to show it off. I hope you also got a really good deal.:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:
