Any thoughts on origin? Out of my wheelhouse. This was also at the retirement home sale and I could not pass it up for $10. Even the hanging hardware was pretty amazing.

It's huge, 74 x 36 inches you'd need a big wall. Got VERY quick photos in shaded bad light, you can see my hands at the top holding this thing up. Will get better pictures after IDing. What is it?

I think the embroidered hanging may be from Laos. The wooden piece is a heddle for a loom, and also looks SE Asian.

Beautiful! This is tatreez is it not (not specifically Palestinian but from a Muslim nation)? I believe a lot of pieces will have motifs specific to a nation but moving diasporas might make being specific tough, probably materials used are a better indicator of origin?

Thank you! I am seeing somewhat similar hangings saying "Laos", still searching. This is totally out of my wheelhouse, so really appreciate the help.

I googled "loom heddle", not seeing anything quite like this, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing. Would this piece have been part of a loom, but removed? I do think the former owners adapted something to use for hanging. Not in the photo was a 1/3 inch wide dowel, not part of the piece, they looped the fabric through the dowel, and using those plastic zip-tie pieces on either end, then looped the dowel through.

Probably the main value is going to be in that embroidered piece. Are we thinking that this all hand done?

I think the hanging may be Jordanian or thereabouts. I've an embroidered coat bought there years back with similar motifs.

Sorry, I should have identified the wooden piece as a loom reed, rather than a heddle - similar to this on a Lao loom:
