Featured How to know where these imari dishes come from and how old

    img_4562.jpg IMG_4563.JPG These dishes I believe are imari which is Japanese right , but the style was used in other countries too , how to know where there from and how old is my question, they are quite small only 15cm across

    Hi, these are Meiji period Japanese Imari dishes, some of the underglaze blue decoration is stencil printed...

    I'm still seeing a lot of very white areas on the bottom rim and still think they are newer than 100 years but that's just me.:sorry:

    mathew2 the pictures of the bottoms are of the same one. Same spots and defects etc. Can you post a picture of the other bottom and tell us which of the two in the top photo it is??
    The journey is not over yet.:)
