The man who did the covering told us his parents covered it 45 years ago and it was old at that time. Wondering if anyone could date it from the style.
Kind of looks 1980s Italianate to me but I'M NO FURNITURE EXPERT. Wait to see what others have to say, I'm likely way off base! So people can get a better look at the detail:
Me too. Sofa and club chair set. Likely would originally have been covered in a solid mohair. New-ish upholstery confuses the eye a bit. Debora
Thanks for the insights! Debora, the picture confirms it for me. Slight variation in style but clearly the same period. My wife saw its potential when it looked like a piece of trash. We love it with the new fabric.
