How old might these chairs be?

I acquired these in Tucson twenty years ago from a friend who got them from his late mother. He described them as Mission style. I had the impression they were from the early 1900's. They are solid ash, I believe. He reglued loose joints and possibly refinished them (not sure about that).

Do these have any value as vintage or antique?

Those are very nice, Jennifer! They might get you $100 for the set, up here*. Old wooden chairs are common, and even really nice, unglued, un-refinished examples don't bring much more than that. I'm no expert, but have collected wooden chairs for 30+ years...I can indulge my addiction pretty inexpensively.

    *80 miles west of Seattle.

    Welcome, BTW!

While they have some of the attributes of mission furniture, they miss the mark a bit. More of a utilitarian design kitchen or comercial library/school chair. Definitely 20th century but could be anywhere from the teens-40s. Think the curved wood support on the underside precludes post-war.

I noticed those...they're functional but do offer a sweet touch to an otherwise pretty utilitarian chair.
