How old is this small wood carved horse?

    It's impossible to say for sure from a photo but I'd say from the deterioration of the paint (unless it's just made to look old) it was handmade in the early to mid 1900's. I'm also making this guess based off of assumption this was made as a toy meaning if it was much older it would have a considerable amount more wear.

    Are you sure that is wood and not like a molded dough that was baked to harden and then painted? I remember as a kid we used to do that.

    No it is really light & you can see the wood through the scope

    I don't know of any means that's the least bit accurate, to tell the age of the object. If it were a standard item made over a long period of time, it might be possible, but right now I'm not sure a team of forensic scientists could shed any light.
