    Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and would like to know a little more about this lounge. The lounge can be made to go flat or sit upright. The chair needs to be repaired. I'm not sure what kind of attachment it is so don't know how to remove.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

This has to be some known maker. So distinctive looking.

Assuming nothing written anywhere? No makers label on the back or underneath?

Guessing either 1930s or 50s/60s for a date. Those arm rests are something. Also wondered if possible they are some kind of Italian retro looking set from the 90s, but probably not. Cosmetic condition seems exceptional, but those arm rests really look older in style so my money would be on older.

Can't wait to see if anyone can ID this. Wait for others.

I think 50s or later. Where did you get this? Doesn't really seem American to me but could be wrong. Think that is just a long screw with the head broken off. You probably need to tear in to the upholstery and replace it from the inside

I'm from Australia so could be locally made but it doesn't look like anything I've seen before hence why I had to buy it when it was listed. I can't see any markings to indicate if it's imported. Also, I believe it's known as a Click-Clack Sofa but it's certainly the oldest one I've come across.

In think you're right about the bolt on closer inspection but for the head to be broken off on a screw gauge this thick.... Must have taken a good whack.

So can the sofa can be made to lie flat as well?

My parents had a vinyl sofa that could do that. Brandt ranch oak, purchased in 1963.

Really an unusual set. Can see why Brad asked if it was from another country. Are the brown side pieces sort of a laminate?

Screams 1950s into early 60s, that does.
