How old is my chaise longue?

    Hi! I bought this beauty for 20 euros but will have to do some restauration works. The filling is straw and steel(ish) springs and the connection are all dovetails. Are these indications that i bought a genuine vintage piece or are they still made that way today?

    I secretly hope that I'll have an orginal 18th century chair in my possession, the chances are smalle but one can only hope [​IMG]

    That’s dowel construction, not a dovetail. Dowels were heavily used in factory furniture from about the late 19th century (late 1800’s), but I agree that yours looks more 20th century, probably mid 20th? Certainly a statement piece with that fabric!
