Found this at the thrift store today! I know it's old because I'm ...a little older than 60(!) and I barely remember Carte Blanche & Bnkamericard credit cards, but I don't think I've ever heard of Uni-Card?!
Also why is there no Visa, Mastercard or American Express?
Could this sign have been used in a different country where these cards are/were more popular?
Where would this have hung? It's fairly big (30" W x 28" H), and besides being double sided it had a old screw & bolt in one hole, so I'm assuming it hung from a bar or frame & not screwed into a wall only showing 1 side - but as I said it's big so it would have to have hung from a high space - probably outside?

Any idea of age or any thoughts on it would be greatly appreciated
    Thank You!

How fab! Early credit cards. (They didn't all survive.) 1960s.

I would suspect it's a restaurant sign. Uni-Card wasn't launched by Chase Manhattan Bank until 1958. BankAmericard wasn't offered by Bank of America outside of California until 1966 so yours (which I assume you found in Florida) likely dates to then or a tad later. At any rate, it can't be earlier than the late 1950s.

No Visa or Mastercard back then and American Express was mainly traveler's checks. You are not nearly as old as you think, journey. ;)

Here's a fun song from Albert Collins, 1978:

And not everyone took Amex, which is still the case in Europe.

The Visa and Mastercard branding of backbone networks didn't appear till much later - they're bank or provider independent now.

Would have been a classy joint. Carte Blanche and Diner's Club were for the well-heeled.
