Featured How old and where could this odd pendant be from?

This one really has me stumped on age/origin. The pendant reminds me of acorns although the leaves are correct. It is 2 1/4" long and 2" wide. The red "bulbs" are some sort of plastic and appear to be hollow. I think the base metal is brass that has been gilded. The chain is 22" with a spring ring clasp and is very dirty at the moment. There is an small bale with a stamped or embossed design which is attached to a single chain link so it doesn't slide along the chain. If anyone could point me in a search direction I'd appreciate the help. Google searches aren't turning up anything helpful.

    Hm. I’d suspect sixties.

Thanks ownedbybear. The sixties was not even on my maybe list. Do you think it just represents fantasy fruit?

    I'd think 1940s.

Thanks Debora. I was thinking possibly 1930's or 1940's but it is such a weird design, I really have no clue.

Looks like something you would wear around Christmas time. The Southern Lagniappe (USA) plant kinda has the same shaped berry in Dec and similar leaves, but not an exact match.

I appreciate all the comments and have continued to search as I can't believe it is OOAK but no luck.
@trip98 I did look up that plant and you are right, not really a match.
I guess I will have to get creative with key words when listing and hope for the best.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Nice necklace -- I don't think it's OOAK, either.

I thought of acorn but I don't think the leaves don't look like oak.

@Marie Forjan That is so pretty and lots nicer than my necklace! The red beads look like glass. Are they?
I have screw back earrings that would match your pin. I will post a picture when I get one taken.

Yes, they are glass. Years ago I tried selling on eboo, no takers. So sad - I just had to keep it :p

Thank you for finding that listing @Aznathalie. Except for the color of the "nuts" it is exactly the same as the one I have. Amazing!

And it is not Art Nouveau.

@Marie Forjan I don't see Art Nouveau style either but at least I know there was another one out there at some point. I will just call it vintage and hope for the best.
