How Much Is That (Bronze) Doggie In The Window?

    With apologies to Patti Page...

    Got this interesting little doggie at the same local auction as the pewter box posted in another thread. Helluva thing having this two items stuffed in a box lot together, don't you think?

    Not the best quality casting. Me thinks a re-strike, perhaps? Probably just brass. Can ya make out the mishmash collection of letters along the side?

    It seems to say 1929 GIFT HOUSE INC, NYC

    (there's a pair that looks similar on eBay - bookends - #221756160105)
