    Welcome, abc. :)

Your silverplated spoons and sugar tong set appears to have been made by John Turton of Sheffield, England. The attached link suggests that the date should be late 1890's given the lack of "& Co." in the mark.

Nice set and great to have the fitted box, but I fear they may not bring a great deal. I suggest that you search eBay.ca for other English silverplated sets of the same approximate age to see what they have sold for recently.

Perhaps some of our Canadian members will have other suggestions for you.

Just for a little perspective,in a shop I frequent there is a lovely little silver plated dessert set in its original box, about 24 pieces, thats been marked $6 for at least 4 years. :(

Sometimes things are marked too low and people won't buy them because they think something is wrong with it.

I would, but Ive reached the stage where if I dont have use or room for something,I have to take a pass. Plus, its tarnished and I dont want to polish it! :)

Wasn't it Reese Palley who said "If it doesn't sell, raise the price."?

Did not know anyone said that.
Just know I have been doing it since the 1970s, when I was doing flea markets.
