Hoping to post these little guys.

I am thinking that they are resin made? They are approx. 2 1/2" (5.5mm) tall and 3" (&.5mm) long. They are solid and very cute. The young girl has a couple marks on the bottom. I can not seem to make them out, maybe they are nothing. The boy does not have a mark. They are just too cute. Guess I am just wondering if anyone has seen these before. Or where they may have come from. I will take any info on them I can get. Thanks.

 

I agree resin. I doubt that is a mark. Looks more like it was a miss in the molding.
Doubt they are very old.
Probably from China, although they could be Japanese.
They are cute.

 

I'm going to put my money on little Japanese children with melons & wait for someone who actually knows something to come along to sort out this one & Bakersgma's pot.

Described as Chinese carved wood, but I doubt the seller really knew. Point is: apparently they've been made for a while.

They're starting to look Chinese to me. The style of the girl's hair & onesies probably distinctive.

 

Any Jewelry is knowledgeable about items from Asia, but perhaps has not seen this thread.

 

Thanks Clutter. I think they are adorable too. I agree that the marks are probably just not cleaned up on the mold. As I can not make anything out of them.

 

Thanks Bronwen. What do you mean by onesies???? I just noticed on the young girl that the front foot only has 4 toes. All the others look pretty good. Some even have toe nails.

A onesie - pron. 1Z - is a 1 piece baby garment, usually one that covers a bit more than the ones on these 2. Maybe they are big bibs to wear while eating melon.

When I first looked at the back sides, the idea flitted through my mind that they were sumo wrestling students. Then realized one was a girl.

 

Well you never know with the way the world is changing one day girls may be sumo wrestlers.....hmmmmmmm

 

The day we see that, we'll know the world really has changed. Now, if we could get Harvey Weinstein on the mat...

 

Now that is gross. I am not sure you could trust what he would do on the mat. And then probably lie.

 

As long as it's on the mat with a sprained back.
