Bonjour! My grandmother was Quebecois. Her maiden name was Lafond. She moved to New Hampshire in the late 1890s. I have not been to visit Quebec in many years. Bienvenue!

    Dears visitors of Québec,
For sure I know what you're talking about. Every tourist must paid a visit at our historical smoke meat restaurant ''Scwartz" http://schwartzsdeli.com/ca/en/ owns by deceased husband René Angelil.. Komokwa, you well grab our french slang colors.
Maple syrup 70,8 % mondial exportation. Now,when you spend an American $ it worth 1.38 can.
Come paid us a visit, a lot of ''Marché aux puces'' (flea market), diverse quality of Antiquaire.

Gila, I had ELEVEN years of French in school, and I NEVER could speak a word! I could READ it and WRITE it, but I never could SPEAK it!

My husband is actually worse with languages than I am! He had the LOWEST score ever recorded on a foreign language final exam at Georgetown University - quite a distinction! That particular one was Russian... (He had already tried French and German. He eventually passed the Foreign Service exam with Spanish...)

One time when we were in Paris, a rather haughty waiter asked him (in English) (after he had ordered) "Is monsieur certain that he wants CREAM SAUCE on his TRACTOR?"

    Oy vey.
