We will need measurements and really good photos including the bottom and any marks.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Hola, fellow "Yanqui", and welcome to the Forums!
Yes, the art brainiacs here will want pictures and measurements.
I couldn't find anything on your statue from just those descriptors.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

What an imposing fellow! I don't have additional information, sorry. I find it curious that the statue isn't attributed to an artist... is there a signature someplace/anyplace on his base or body?
I bet somebody here will recognize the uniform, etc.
Hey, is that a serape in the background??

The only mark is on the base and I can't get a picture it looks like a J. No serape just a Mexican blanket, husband is from Mexico and whenever we visit I bring back the blankets because they are so beautiful and I love color.

Spent yesterday at the library pulling books on explorers - a lot of them are pictured with swords and this one does not, only holding a telescope.

The label does not seem to be tampered.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Good question, Professor. The dude doesn't really seem to fit "The Senders"...

Hmmmm... let's all Google European explorers... looking for that outfit!

    I'd say Columbus.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

It's that hat that's throwin' me. Magellan is closer, but... not quite right, still.

I know - also it looks as though he is wearing boots not tights and no armour. My first thought was Columbus then I looked up Vasco Balboa and DeGama and he does somewhat resemble Ponce De Leon. The last I checked was Marco Polo because he was young and had curly hair - but you are right the hat and the boots throw it off. The pictures showed them in military armour or tights.

    Welcome,

That's a really neat piece. Unfortunately, I could not find anything more on it. I did find a few items from the Fine Art Guild LTD but they were mainly painted plates. I did also find this post (https://www.antiquers.com/threads/fine-art-guild-ltd-framed-obliske.1983/ ) on the forum regarding some framed obelisk that were stamped in the same manner. The members here seem to have done a little research on the company itself in that post. I am sure someone here will have more info for you. Good luck, it looks like a nice piece.

Also I have been checking out Verrazano and the facial structure and hair is the same also in some pictures he was wearing a hat with a plume.
