Hey Terry chuck the incense what about this rare chunk of wood I just signed

    Nothing I know of just bought it as is...along with some other things
    I remember a discussion somewhere here, I think nuff posted some chunks of wood or bases for antiques
    anyway just curious, it is signed

    Hi,
    My Gramp had a hunk of wood with 20+ minnie balls embedded in it from Gettysburg. His cousin had a farm in Gettysburg. Thanks for the memory jog. Now to figure out who has it now.:( I have a handful I dug up on the farm when I was 8 or 9 years old. Happily I know where they are.:D

    Looks like a burl that was used as a base for some carving.

    I think the signature on the base would indicate something more substantial was pegged into it....

    I think your right it likely had something attached
    Was just going thru some of my hoard last night. Im sure I paid under a dollar for it
    I did see a show on pbs recently about burled wood interesting
    And yes I was just joking, up too late at night

    There were few sales this holiday weekend and rain so finds were a bust but found some good stuff in my own stash lol
    I think this little fat polk-a-dot googly eye German dog is a goody

    Dollars to donuts it was one of those wire and washer tennis player figurines.:) I'd rather use it for incense, and I hate incense.
