I re-found this photo among some other photographs in a box I was going through earlier today. I had picked it up a few years ago out of some boxes that had been purchased at some estate sales up in Pennsylvania.

Obviously this is not worth my time to try to sell it, but I just can't bring myself to just throw it away. I tried to do some searching on-line, but was not very successful. Could anyone help me out & let me know if this young man still has relatives located in Philadelphia?

I was able to find a James L. Bouldin that was born in 1911 & died in 1995. His last known residence was in zip code 19151.

Good looking young man - that's my opinion. ;)
It certainly looks like it could be the same James - no obituary found?

Thanks for the additional information!!!:kiss:

It is strange the things we get "attached" to in this business. This photo has been floating around for about 5 years now & every time I come across it I can't seem to bring myself to do anything with it. I think it is the fact that there is an actual name on the folder & he is not just some person I do not know. Sometimes I can be too sentimental to be in this crazy business. :p:p:p:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::D

Did some poking about this morning and think the one you found who died in 1995 is probably the man in your picture.

James Lloyd Bouldin Jr., son of James Lloyd Sr. and Susie Robinson, was born 3 Aug 1919 in Philly. Enlisted in the Army on 28 Feb 1942 at Fort George Meade, Maryland and served state-side until late 1943. Was sent abroad 1 Nov 1943 and continued until 12 Dec 1945. Honorably discharged on 22 Dec 1945 at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Pennsylvania. (Most of this information is from his Pennsylvania WWII Veteran's Compensation Application submitted in 1950. Interesting that the address he gave in that application was in Alameda, California.)

At some point he married Agnes (maiden name currently unknown) with whom he is buried in a cemetery in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. I haven't found children yet, but they could be out there somewhere. I know he had at least 2 siblings, though, from census records.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I love reading this thread. I've occasionally tried to reunite photos of identified people with descendants or, at least, relatives. It can take a while. It's been very satisfying when I do manage to reunite one. But also, there are many that have not made it to the stage of reuniting. There's just so much time I have to spend on them...

I recently connected with a man in New England who is a collector (and sometime dealer) of old photos who had posted a large number of them (from a single album he had purchased at auction) on Ancestry. They popped up because they were attached to people in his family tree who are also on mine - and fairly close relatives of whom I have only 1 picture, but in many cases none!

When asked about our family connection, it seems that he believes that his earliest "American immigrant" ancestor of a particular surname was the brother of my earliest documented ancestor of the same surname. Now, I think it is highly unlikely, given a variety of factors, but I'm not going to argue the point. I'm hoping that he will agree to have copies of some of them made for me so I will have more than the digital ones for posterity. ;)
