Hello, my name is Michael and I am looking for to help in accurately identifying a Amitabha buddha statue I have.

I would sincerely appreciate your assistance with this. Rather unique design that of which I was told to be after an ivory tusk, albeit it is either bronze or silver, just designed in a tusk like curvature way. It's approximately 16" tall and weighs in at over 16lbs.

Numbered 3/20, is this a good thing or is it common? I've seen one similar curved one like this on a well know auction site, but no other and frankly do not know where to turn for help.

    Thank you and I look forward to your response. r PSX_20220117_114831_20220210235549067.jpg PSX_20220117_130617.jpg PSX_20220117_130310.jpg PSX_20220117_130240.jpg PSX_20220117_120339.jpg

it does have a bronze look to it.....so 16 pounds would not be unheard of...
also the 3 /20 could stand for a limited edition casting ...

an asian translation will be likely tomorrow...;)

the case image is very nice ....btw...:)

Well bummer no more info on this eh.
@komokwa What did you mean by case image?

Does anyone know where I can look or ask for help with this Buddha statue if not here?

    Thank you.

It's a bit too stylised Chinese for me to work out the text, I'm better when it is Japanese or more standard form. The fact it says 3/20 suggesting a limited edition pretty much ensures it's post war 20th century though. Don't think I have ever seen it on something earlier.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Lots of scratching near the marks. Maybe somebody was trying to determine the material from which it is made?
