I found this today at a thrift store - my first thought was it was one of those big eyed baby paintings & prints, but then I thought of Nancy Sinatra! (MY defense is there was something on TMZ last night about 2 young/new stars who sang a duet together - of Nancy Sinatra's song "These Boots Were Made For Walking " - and when asked if they knew whose song that was one replied 'Nancy somebody ' (which makes me feel really old because that song - and Nancy Sinatra- were a big deal when I was ...younger!

So I liked the painting & bought it, bought I can't make out the artist's signature - I made it normal & in a darker tone hoping it will help someone make out the name. (Also 1 photo of painting in sunlight and 1 inside with flash)
    Also any thoughts on it?

    Thank you!

I don't think that is Nancy Sinatra in the art piece.
And I am really old too because that song came out when I was really young.
I so wanted her go go boots.

Wouldn't want to meet her in an alley on a dark night.

For me, her hair is disturbingly too big for her face and head-- it's distracting. And it looks so very, very 1960s. That's another negative in my book.

She has the body of an early teen (including some puppy fat), the face of a sulking six year old, and she is wearing her big sister's 60s wig.
The painter seems to be accomplished in some things, not so much in others.

She looks like she has some bloating or perhaps a bun in the oven.

Today she's a 86 year old ex-roller derby star and lives in Muskogee,Oklahoma.
She's still bitter about being too old to appear in the WWE.
She had a cameo in a David Lynch movie.

IMHO it's a perfect Lynchian movie,Elephant Man,The Straight Story and Mulholland Drive are all good-but he really creates a unique, complete universe in Velvet, like the first season of Twin Peaks.

Of course, I remember that when it came out, it was controversial, it was 'weird,' people left theaters and such. But I think it has aged well. It doesn't seem terribly dated, and there's SO much going on.... it ends up being more interesting than anything else.

And compared to some of today's pop culture, it's not all that weird or profane anymore.
