Help With Siggy On Watercolor

    I think it is Arabic, or Farsi the date is 1377 which translates to 1957.

    Certainly not a muslim painter with the depiction of a human for, and a dog.

    By the way that is a goat. So quite possible to be with Mid Eastern origin.
    Davey, which one is the date, the first characters? I guess you have no clue what the rest reads?

    Not that I know of.

    Most of the numbers are written the same in Arabic, Farsi (Persian) and Urdu.
    It could be any of the 22 Arab countries, or Pakistan, Iran including several states of India.
    I would print the written words off and visit some appropriate food outlets.:cool:

    I'd read it as 1277. probably one of the many handwritten variations around Pakistan or Bradford. but I'd go with 1377 too if it fits in with the material (frame etc.).

    Looks like a 3 to me. Most of the Arab numerals show the ancestry of our arabic numerals, 2 and 3 you knock sideways and trim the tail, and so on.
