I can't seem to find it.

    It's about 8" across, and 2.5" high.

The pattern is Spokes and Wheels.
Use? I doubt it has a specific use, just decorative.

    Hi,
We always called them "just for nice" which I believe is a Pa Dutch saying.
Messi, swearing like that. tsk tsk. If it is going to bother you just send it to me. (Missing a little green envy icon.)

I actually know that phrase, Greg, but I probably read it in a book. :D

    :)Messi.

That "Three edge up" style seems to be found on 99% of the bowls in this pattern, regardless of color.

That's what I'd call it BTW. Three edge up.
All the edge styles have nomenclature.
    6 ruffle.
    8 ruffle.
    Pie crust.
    Ribbon candy.
    3 in 1.
1 edge up. (usually 6" plates made into calling card trays.)
    2 edge up... Banana boat.
    3 edge up...Like this one.

Oh, and the color is Flint opalescent.

"Northwood Flint Opalescent 3 edge up Spokes and Wheels 8 inch plate circa 1900" (or bowl)
I think that pretty well sums it up.
I'm afraid even though a genuine antique there isn't any great value at this time.:(

Yes indeed Pa. Dutch. You'll find it on Pennsbury "Motto" bowls. There were 2 motto bowls produced. These bowls, sold only at the factory were inscribed with several Pa. Dutch sayings. "Outen the light" is another phrase found. They're both scarce and desirable to Pennsbury collectors.

    Thanks, Don.
I have had a couple of Pennsbury pieces, but it was early in my selling, and out here in Colorado, I didn't get much for them.

My wife collects Pennsbury Red Rooster. She has probably 200+ pieces. Not much she doesn't have. Funny though. We JUST got the two quart pitcher a couple of months ago after searching for over 10 years. I didn't expect that pitcher to be so d*** hard to find.

Oh yeah. We also collect Pennsbury birds.

So . . . what does one do?
Price it at $20 and see what happens?

    That's probably about right.
I know I'd be in the 20-30 range with it. No shipping to consider.
