I found this yesterday at a local thrift store & liked it - my first thought was Pollock but it's really more like it was done with a sponge?
How was this done? Is it a abstract?
Does anyone know who Howell is/was?
    Thanks for any information.
PS - Look at 4th photo - it looks like there is a name or signature hidden it the art? (kinda Pollock-ish?!)

Sales results on Liveauctioneers.com have been less than impressive.

Re: Mark-Sales can fluctuate wildly on newer art.Also-
    1.Is this a Gicle'e Print ?
A Gicle'e Print is-' A process used widely (since early 90's) to mean any fine-art printing, usually archival, printed by inkjet. It is often used by artists, galleries, and print shops for their high quality printing.'....an actual hand-pulled silkscreen or lithograph would be better.
    2.Is is Pencil signed ?
3.Try to figure what media was used to create the piece (watercolor, gouache, acrylic). Take it to some reputable print shops around town-forget about the fancy West Palm Mall Shops, try for a real expert & not some 25 yr old hottie who doesn't know a Rubens from a Reuben sandwich.
4.Check for a water mark on the paper.
    Good luck-here's hopin !

Thank you all! I'm going to see how hard to take out & check.
Edge of paper is not smooth like cut with scissors if I remember. I'll take photo when I get home.

Here are the edges of the art - doesn't look like paper a print would go on, does it?
Also, if you look at the 3rd photo of the bottom left of the piece it looks like letters or a name - and below it at the very bottom it looks like it could be the year it was made - 2000?
Thanks again for finding out who the artist was; you guys are amazing!

Guess I'm going to take it out tomorrow sometime to sew what it looks & feels like.
One good thing is it's title on back 'Sun Fields' doesn't come up as a print - right?
