    Hello Everyone!

I’ve just joined and want to thank you in advance for any help you can provide. An elderly family member recently passed away and left some items behind. I was hoping someone may recognize these lamps and have some potential information on them, or at least be able to tell me they’re not worth trying to sell. Unfortunately not other real information.

    Thanks!

    Andrew

I just joined the group also. Where would you sell lamps similar to these and what price would you ask?

Can't advise you on asking price but...

Do know that the cost of shipping these types of (fragile) items can be prohibitive for many buyers. Therefore, many sellers choose to put on offer in their local market.

Should Something like this be appraised locally or not worth it?

Lamps like this? Of this quality and age? Not sure if value merits an official appraisal per se. To get an idea of asking price there are lots of things you can do... Visit local antique stores & thrift shops. Poke around the internet on local sales sites. Check out Completed listings on eBay (but keeping in mind that sold prices may not apply to your market.) Or you could wait until someone else comes along and offers their opinion. Lots of people here who are both knowledgable and pragmatic.

The brass leaf section is sort of reminding me of a Stiffel lamp I had, but general design is not typical (except heaven knows Stiffel made thousands of designs.) Check the metal parts for any kind of signature, plus the top of the shade.

Agree these wouldn't merit the cost of an appraisal. I think suggestions above are good. If they are Stiffel by chance, you might be able to find similar to get a price point.

Also important for value will be if you have both shades in good condition.

Excellent point re shades. They can always be recovered but frame costly to duplicate.

In my Midwest market, I could not sell these at any price. In a large city or in California, you might tap in to the Hollywood Regency market.
