Help with Nippon Vase please

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I purchased this vase at a great price and love the design. I don't know anything about Nippon or antiques for that matter. I hoping someone can provide information or point me in the right direction. If you need additional pics let me know.

    It is 11 3/4" tall.

    Hello and welcome to our forum. You will find many knowledgeable people here.

    Let me preface my opinion with the fact that I am not always correct.

    Your vase is very nice, but looks more Chinese than Nippon. Nippon marks have been faked.

    Here is a page full of mostly Nippon vases. Your vase does not look very similar.
    Wait for others more knowledgeable in this area than I am.

    I haven't clicked the link but I agree with ClutteredCloset, this does not look like typical Nippon.

    Same here. The colors and design are Chinese. That doesn't mean a Japanese firm couldn't have done the same thing if they wanted to.

    From the photos, it looks like it's been antiqued with oil and grime, a very Chinese technique. If you scrub it, you might end up with a very shiny piece.
