    Good Evening Everyone,

Just curious if anyone recognizes the pattern on the edge of this tray, or has any thoughts on where I should look to try to match these marks? I'm thinking the tray is silverplated, and I was thinking France, but I could be off on both assumptions, any help would be appreciated:

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

It looks like all that's readable there, other than the numbers, is
"& RI"....from what I can read.......but on extra sharpening, it might not be an "&".....

No idea, and no idea. Gave reading the marks a go and ... no idea. If I had it in hand maybe, but not from a photo.

Anthemion or palmette motif on the edge.

That’s extremely helpful Houseful; I was searching palm tray and palms tray earlier with no luck, palmette is showing me many similar styled pieces.

As already said, the motif on the decorative band below the beading is a classic 'palmette' - suspect your marks might be two of the round Meriden Britannia trademarks, fairly common for them to be struck slightly overlapped, and the production codes also similar to the company's usual form, but placement under the rim is atypical (and likely why yours are so obscured), unless the bottom is textured, leaving under the rim the only smooth surface...

That price of $30 in 1886 would be over $800 today!
