Not because it had a valuable name- I can not find any name on it - but because it has the most unusual base; it looks kinda like horses with webbed feet - maybe sea serpents?

Google search turned up nothing like it.
    Any ideas of maker, age?
It's been keeping perfect time since I wound it 3-4 hours ago!

Thank you! Gonna look it up now.
Ever seen a click like this?
Maybe it was on something bigger?

It's very unique! I would have picked it up too. I love LOVE the hands having an hourglass and an arrow and sickle. Sometimes additional marks are found in the clock itself but I'm not necessarily advocating you should go taking it apart.

I think it is meant to be a scythe (grim reaper).;) The passing of time (hourglass) brings us closer to the hour of death.:(

When I searched the clock from top down with the bird - even when I put clock in the search - I got Victorian & art deco bracelets! But at the thrift store one search turned up clocks called 'sonia' or a similar word?

AI is definitely not a perfect tool.

The mantel clock looked about 1900 to me. Found this one with the same back that agrees with that time period. They say theirs is stamped for Regent MFG CO. of Chicago, Illinois. Clock History says "Made cast front cases that often housed Western Clock Clock Manufacturing Company or Western Clock Company movements." See also WestClox.

Not saying yours has to be the same company for the clock mount, but the clock itself may be Western Clock Co. and shows how mass manufacture fit together bits for different companies around that time when mantel clocks were inexpensive and plentiful.

If one of you had found this, how would you describe it?
Was it worth the $50 I paid? (It is still keeping perfect time since i wound it around 730 this morning- 10 hrs!)

Definitely has age and it's so dark and steampunk-y, I would absolutely purchased that for $50. It's almost scary.

Someone will want that just for the look. Absolute bonus that it is keeping time.

Probably. Seems to have been attached to something:

I thought it might have been part of something too.
In the description I gotta add about the hour & minute hands and time/ approaching death!

Maybe there was a wood base. Easier on surfaces than metal hippocamp feet.

It is a figural clock even though it's just the feet?
