Help with Makers Mark please

Hi,

I was given a sugar/jam bowl with a swing handle which lifts the lid (see pictures). I would like to find out more about it or be directed to where to search for details about the makers mark, year made and where made if possible?

 

Antro is no doubt the maker's name (but not a name I recognise). The 4 characters below that are EPNS - electroplated nickel silver. Your bowl is therefore plated and not solid silver. The letter A is conventionally an indication of the plating quality.

You can post your images UP TO 1 MB, but images down in the 30s kb are really usually too blurry and small to show clearly.....some of us can enlarge an image a bit, but they must be sharp to begin with......just an 'fyi' for next time..... any suggestions are meant to be helpful, NOT critical!!

 

Hopefully these are better photos. As a note I have found out a little about this bowl in the interim. I believe the inventor of the swing handle which is on this bowl was Edwin Lycestor Antrobus who took out a patent in 1896 on a new way to close jars etc and I believe he died in NZ in 1925. I guess my bowl was made around that time. Could the makers mark be Copper Plated Nickel Silver?
