It is about 11 1/2" in diameter. The siggy on the bottom is hard to read. Maybe someone can recognize the impressed mark on the side?
    Thanks

Here is a better view of the bottom mark but still no idea what it reads.
Do you think it is a studio pottery? Made made in Japan, with that bamboo handle?

Contemporary studio pottery...could be from anywhere. These bamboo handles are available at nearly every pottery supply outlet, and sold online by major suppliers like Aftosa. Most potters use them on teapots. (And it's more likely that they are from China than Japan.)

I can't begin to decipher the signature, but maybe someone will recognize the stamp. It's something usually found only on work by professional potters, so there's a little better chance (although still slim) of it being identified.
