Hi I have a Japanese painting that looks like an original.

Can anyone help with identifying the artist, date, original or copy and value?
It needs a new mat and the frame is not working in my house and needs replacement but I love the colors.
    Thank you for your help.

I would think this is the correct orientation. And shame that it appears to have been poorly treated somewhere along the way.

Thank you. I wonder is it a watercolor on paper and not a copy? I love the colors and will ask a paper conservator in town about tightening it up with a new mat.

Sorry, I can recognize certain character combinations on ceramics, but can't read the characters in other combinations.

In general it looks like it's had a rough life, but I don't think very old at all. Back in the 80's and 90's when I would go to art festivals in Rhode Island there were artists painting these very things right there.

It is an original and Chinese. I like the style. Many antique and vintage paintings that came out of China when it opened up in the 1980s had such a pastel coloured brocade surround.
@Couch Potato Wannabe , @JayBee can you help with the translation?
