Hi! Can someone please help with any information about the possible origin, age and use of these small elephant shaped pieces and the larger "shield" type piece. The material is definitely PIC000002_2.jpg not plastic, but some sort of bone or ivory. In total there are 9 elephant shaped pieces (all roughly the same size). All and any information will be greatly appreciated as well as a possible monetary value of this set! Thank you!

I've seen these strung on a necklace many times, the largest being the focal point of the necklace. Likely bone.

They're fairly recent. I see some on ebay that say 1960's but I would guess many are newer than that.

I'm going to rattle Greg's timbers here. :)

The Merry-Go-Round at the Jersey shore (where the fortune teller lady lived), used to give out tiny colored glass elephants in return for catching the rings. I kept trying to make my arms grow longer.

(For that matter, I still am -- but now I'm just trying to reach the top shelf. :()
