    Hi,
I have this necklace, 17"L., marked 14K with initials and another mark that I can't figure out. The initials look like maybe CC, the other mark looks like the copyright mark with a G inside. Sorry about the marks, this is the best that I can get. Is the design considered herringbone?
    any thoughts appreciated.
    Thanks for looking.

    Flat snake ( bone ) chain....likely China.
Have it tested......the clasp may be the only 14K.....or not even.
A lot of these say gold plated, on the web.

thanks Komokwa! Yes, I took it to the pawn shop and he said confirmed 14K, weighs 5.5 grams. It is marked 14K on each side of the clasp and then the other 2 marks, no Italy or other country mark.

thanks komokwa. I don't know if this will make a difference but I made a mistake, the marks aren't on the clasp but on the end part of the necklace that is attached to the clasp, there is no mark on the clasp itself.

Yes, there is a 14k mark on the clasp. Tiny, but you can probably feel it when you go over it with your nail.
The clasp is original to the necklace. Most of these were made in Italy. Italian marking is not up to international standards yet, and certainly wasn't when this was made.
Many of these necklaces were marked as gold, but actually goldplated/filled, but there were also solid gold ones. Fakes often have multiple marks as well, so that is no indication.
Yours clearly has a bit of age, but I don't see any wear with other metal showing. It looks all gold. And it has been tested as solid gold.
